Ysgol Bwlchgwyn CPAim High

School Dinners

Bwlchgwyn school dinners are cooked fresh everyday by Carolyn in the school kitchen, assisted by Lynne. We are inspected regularly, as are all food premises, by Wrexham CBC Environmental Services and by WCBC Support Services to ensure that hygiene and quality control are always of the highest standard. At the last inspection (Nov 22) we were awarded a rating of 5 by Wrexham Environmental Services.

All school meals are provided free of charge for children from Reception to Year 6 via Welsh Government. The cost of school dinners for Nursery pupils is £2.40 per day per child (£12.00 per child per week).

Bookings (including meal choices) for school dinners must be made in advance, by 8am at the latest on the day your child requires a school meal or up to 2 weeks in advance via the school's online payment system via https://www.parentpay.com/

We have a rolling 2 week menu with Week 1 being the first week after every school holiday. You can download the current menu from the County website in English or Cymraeg or view via the ParentPay school meal bookings.

If parents are in receipt of certain benefits you may be entitled to Free School Meals, which also includes a Schools Essentials Grant as well as the possibility of money towards music lessons and residential trips. We urge parents who may be eligible to still apply for Free School Meals as this not only provides parents with additional funding but also provides additional funding to school via Welsh Government – please contact the school office or check the Wrexham County website for further details on meals and menus.
